What Happens in a Contact Lens Exam

Your contact lens exam begins with an assessment of your overall eye health to confirm your suitability for contact lens wear. Next, it’s time to measure your contact lens prescription. From there, we will discuss lens options and determine which style will provide you with the clearest and most comfortable vision.
Fitting Your Contact Lenses
Once we have decided on a style of contact lens, we will begin fitting you for your new lenses. This includes corneal topography, which measures and maps the shape of your eye for an accurate fit.
Then, we will fit you with a pair of trial lenses. If you are new to contact lens wear, we will show you how to safely insert, remove, and care for your lenses. Once you’re feeling confident, we’ll send you home with your trial lenses and schedule a follow-up in a couple of weeks to confirm the fit before ordering a full set of lenses.
